The Project GREEN Advisory Committee is comprised of a diverse set of leaders from Southwest Indiana and beyond.
In the fall of 2008 as Project GREEN embarked on learning more about Southwest Indiana’s energy assets and the potential exploitation of these assets to create a more vibrant economy for the region, it enlisted a diverse set of leaders from the business, education, workforce development and economic development to assist in shaping the strategies to accomplish the vision of a nationally recognized energy business cluster.

Once the gap analysis and roadmap had been completed, Project GREEN began to call upon additional stakeholders to take an active role and to provide for the implementation of the four initiatives identified.
Energy Manufacturing
Purpose: Project GREEN’s Energy Manufacturing Initiative will develop strategies designed to attract an OEM or major Tier I manufacturer in the clean energy industry and encourage regional manufacturers to explore the potential for business expansion in the energy sector.
Lead Partner: The Chamber of Commerce of Southwest Indiana and its Tri-State Manufacturing Alliance wil serve as the lead partner in this initiative.

Energy Workforce
Purpose: Project GREEN’s Energy Workforce Initiative will develop strategies that will provide for a world-class energy technology training center integrating secondary and postsecondary education and training opportunities.
Lead Partner: The Regional Workforce Board and its regional operator Grow Southwest Indiana Workforce will serve as the lead partner in this initiative.

Energy Efficiency
Purpose: Project GREEN’s Energy Efficiency Initiative will develop strategies that increase the public’s awareness of the environmental and economical benefits of reducing energy consumption that leads to conservation activities and job creation.
Lead Partner: A regional community leadership team will be formed among businesses, utilities and governments, but it is imperative that leadership at the individual community level be involved to ensure that projects are properly scaled to the needs and resources of each community.

Advanced Coal Technologies
Purpose: Project GREEN’s Advanced Coal Initiative will develop strategies to provide for the nation’s leading advanced coal research and commercialization center.
Lead Partner: The Indiana Center for Coal Technology Research is a vital partner in this initiative with local activities coordinated through the Regional Workforce Board’s regional operator Grow Southwest Indiana Workforce.
