The vision for Project GREEN's Energy Efficiency initiative is to achieve a nationally recognized energy efficient region based on retrofits and upgrades for buildings at all levels of the public and private sectors.

At the outset this would include public buildings and certain residential housing segments, later leading to private sector programs. This initiative will involve significant job opportunities as programs are deployed, such as energy auditors, builders, contractors, and other service providers.

The Energy Efficiency initiative will be achieved through well coordinated partnerships, with Project GREEN identifying opportunities and mobilizing existing resources to achieve its goals. Project GREEN leadership recognizes that the communities throughout the region are unique, requiring customized approaches.
