Energy Technology Center

Southwest Indiana has exceptional institutions of higher learning and workforce training programs that support the regional economy, as well as excellent primary and secondary schools. The regional commitment to education is evident.

Project GREEN's Energy Technology Center initiative seeks to realize opportunities for collaboration among these institutions with an energy based economic future in mind.

Project GREEN research has identified the strengths of the respective institutions and points to a shared energy technology training and education model, that would naturally lead to an energy technology commercialization path, and eventually research and development.

All of this would create a competitive economic advantage for the region in terms of highly skilled energy workforce, as well as spur an innovative, entrepreneurial environment.

Accordingly, the working mission statement for Energy Technology Center is "To strengthen the regional economy by advancing education, awareness, and technical training for advanced energy technologies, and creating and sustaining a center of excellence for energy technology research, development, commercialization, and innovation." Initial conversations among institutions are underway.
